This $2 type is from the dollar denominated series of notes that were payable in U.S. Legal Tenders or U.S. Currency depending on the back obligation. The earlier Rust book was sometimes unclear in its illustrations, and those earlier attributions can be confusing compared with the clarified and expanded Douglas Nyholm listings. A very handsome type lithographed on two sides by Ferd. Mayer & Co., Engr. New York. A young woman holding a dove is at bottom center with the vignette adapted from Danforth, Wright & Co. engraved notes. Left and right are green color protectors. The title is curved across the top with geometric patterns at each end. The back is green with ornate scrollwork, \"2\" protector counter in the center and text PAYABLE IN U.S. CURRENCY at the bottom. A fully signed and issued note. The denomination was not in the Ford collection. Noted with \"Small Edge and Internal Splits and Tears.\" The color is vibrant and this is an attractive, rare note. Ex: Eric P.
