GA-75d. PCGS Very Fine 30 Apparent.  This is a key Georgia Seal note type that is unpriced in the Newman reference. Our research did not unearth any auction records in the modern era. Even the F.C.C. Boyd collection did not contain this type among the amazing array of Georgia Seal notes auctioned in Ford sales X, XV and XVII from 2005-2007. It is interesting to note that the 1777 No Resolution $4 Liberty Cap note (Fr. GA-86) has appeared in sales from two collections in the past decade. The first was the Boyd note, likely the finest, that realized a tremendous $23,000 in May 2005. We sold the Midnight Ride Collection example in September 2009 for $9,775 (PMG VF30PPQ). This note is rarer, without auction records to our knowledge. It is the upper left sheet position, border (a) variety and has full selvage remaining at the left and right. With the exception of oxidation within the corrosive inks of the seal as made, the paper is natural and fresh. Noted are \"Damage in Seal; Small Edge Tears, Hole, and Minor Damage in Selvage\" by PCGS, and we reiterate the seal detriments are due to a natural reaction to corrosive inks. It is the first of a trio of $4 Georgia Colonial rarities. Though hardly perfect, this example is the first we have encountered or catalogued for sale and presents a unique opportunity for the informed Georgia Colonial note specialist.  Ex: Eric P.
