The digital collection contains digitized historical photographs from Series 6 and 7 of the larger collection and includes portraits of astronomers, telescope and lens makers and other prominent scientists, scenes of life at the observatory on Mount Hamilton, instruments, and documentation of expeditions. The physical archive includes records beginning in 1870 describing the founding construction and operation of the observatory, and documenting aspects of the early astronomical ambitions and achievements of its founders. Correspondence, copybooks, drawings, diaries and logs, and the personal papers of resident and visiting astronomers make up a large portion of the Archive."},{"label":"Title","value":"Illinois photometer, brought to the Lick Observatory during the summer of 1915 by Dr. Joel Stebbins"},{"label":"Collection Title","value":"Lick Observatory photographs"},{"label":"Sub-Series Title","value":"Instruments, Lick Observatory; Photometers"},{"label":"Series Title","value":"Series 6: Glass Negatives"},{"label":"Collection Call Number","value":"UA 36"},{"label":"Topics","value":["Astronomical instruments","Refracting telescopes","Astronomical photometry"]}],"description":"Illinois photometer, brought to the Lick Observatory during the summer of 1915 by Dr. Joel Stebbins","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ucsc/iiif/fbff4576-5363-44e6-8fe0-17e6439ce2e7/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"Illinois photometer, brought to the Lick Observatory during the summer of 1915 by Dr. Joel Stebbins","height":7086,"width":5434,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ucsc/iiif/fbff4576-5363-44e6-8fe0-17e6439ce2e7/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ucsc/iiif/fbff4576-5363-44e6-8fe0-17e6439ce2e7","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":2048,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4]}]},"height":7086,"width":5434},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ucsc/iiif/fbff4576-5363-44e6-8fe0-17e6439ce2e7/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ucsc/iiif/fbff4576-5363-44e6-8fe0-17e6439ce2e7/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ucsc/iiif/fbff4576-5363-44e6-8fe0-17e6439ce2e7/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/ucsc/iiif/logo"}
