Flood waters carried her truck off of Paulsen Road in and Hernandez, who does not swim, stood on the roof of her truck for over an hour until Paiss and Kine could reach her and paddle her to safety. Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies and Pajaro Valley Fire assisted in the rescue including rescue swimmers Matthew Goodwin and Phil Matteson.
