The groceries provide essential nutrition to families that have children with cancer or other serious illnesses in Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito, and southern Santa Clara counties. Representatives from Freedom Rotary were on hand during the grocery packing to announce that Jacob's Heart and three other local non-profits are club’s major 2020 endowment recipients. Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes, Pajaro Valley Shelter Services, and Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds Foundation will each receive an endowment of $64,500. Freedom Rotary also established a $50,000 Donor Advise Fund to make additional gifts. Founded in 1998, Jacob's Heart serves over 300 families and provides groceries to more than 80 families each week.
