The swimmers had been kicking with 6-foot social distance separation until the appearance of the marine mammals and they returned to appropriate separation immediately afterwards. The club’s swimmers range from pre-competitive to college swimming and even has an Olympic hopeful at the moment. The local non-profit swim team that has been forced to be creative with training, as pool access has been challenging during the pandemic and has. We been training at Cowells since April. Recently they have begun swimming at Cabrillo College, but only 3 times per week so the other 2 days we continue to train in the Bay. These swimmers completed the 1.1 mile swim around the wharf in just 35 minutes.
