Camp Erin, a national effort created by the Moyer Foundation combines traditional, fun camp activities like archery, swimming and arts and crafts with grief education and emotional support. The camp provided free of charge for all families, creates a relaxed, safe and supportive setting for children and teens ages 6-17 who have experienced the death of someone special. The youngsters are able to express emotions, share their grief and learn positive coping skills. More than fifty children attended the third annual local session of Camp Erin this year. The camp is a project of the Moyer Foundation, which was created in 2000 by former Major League Baseball pitcher Jamie Moyer and his wife Karen. What started as a small nonprofit in Seattle, WA, with a broad mission to help children in distress, has grown into a national organization with signature programs reaching thousands of children impacted by grief or addiction in their family in over 50 cities each year."},{"label":"Creator","value":["Thaler, Shmuel"]},{"label":"Title","value":"A Camp Erin Story - 034"},{"label":"Series Title","value":"Moments in Time"},{"label":"Collection Description","value":"The Shmuel Thaler photographs collection contains photographs by Santa Cruz Sentinel photographer Shmuel Thaler.
