The study reviewed perceptions of women in society, the workforce, and higher education, using limited opportunity structure, leadership labyrinth, and glass cliff theories to ground the investigation. The qualitative design captured the narrative experiences of six participants, revealing four emerging themes: gender policy impact impartiality, persistent innovation navigation, disempowered authority, and malignant pathologic leadership inequity. With seventy-six participants nationwide, the quantitative design depicted how wide-reaching the problem was. The study substantiated the limited opportunity structure and leadership labyrinth theories concerning perceptions of women in society and the workforce, and it also supported the presence of all three theories concerning perceptions of women in higher education. Additionally, the findings and results proffered a new term - gender promotion disparity. The data provided by women of color were specifically reviewed to determine how their experiences compared.
