Although it is not recognized as such, poor functioning of it can paralyze the entire body and be lethal. Therefore, the care and prevention of liver diseases are essential. Hepatitis, as its name suggests, is inflammation of the liver. There are different types of hepatitis according to the type of infecting pathogen. Hepatitis B is caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). Currently, many research projects and collective work are being done regarding the prevention of HBV infection. As a major global health problem, it can lead to either acute or chronic infection. The latter has attached risk factors as it can cause death from cirrhosis, liver cancer, or liver failure (end-stage liver disease). It is important to know that this disease is not only caused by the infection of a virus, but it may also be caused by various reasons, including alcohol abuse, certain medications and drugs, toxins, or even autoimmune diseases.
