T. S. Houger and George McAuley founded their blacksmith shop in 1906 at the site of what is now the Graton Post Office. The Houger home, visible behind the shop, still sits at the corner of Edison and Irving Streets. The shop closed around 1916, as cars came into vogue. Caption by Lesa Tanner from her book \"Graton.\" Both men stand in front of their shop. Small sign to left on edge of shop states \"Plow shares ground here.\" George McAuley was married to Elizabeth Bernice Wirts (1886-1910) whose family were early pioneers to Green Valley."},{"label":"Main or Supplied Title","value":"T.
