Emile Languetin (1868-1940), a Switzerland native, built \"Casa Del Sol\", which backed up to the newly constructed General Hospital, in 1920. Emile and his wife Josephine Languetin (1875-1935), both retired, lived in the rear unit, a one bedroom bungalow, which was numbered 608 1/2 Washington Street. The building was acquired later (by 1963) as an income property by Italian immigrant Josephine Girolo (1884-1970) and her husband Peter. Josephine's heirs sold it to the General Hospital after her death. By 1980 site plans show that the building was considered \"hospital apartments\". In 2015 Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital sold the parcel to the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa.
