Clapboard building with bell tower. Background: By Emma Street Hively Oak Grove School: It was built originally in 1854 on top of the hill on the Gilliam place. It was moved to a new location on Occidental Road on land owned by Mr Story about 1860 by being placed upon skids and pulled by oxen. This was to bring it to a more central location as more people settled in the Valley. It was there but a short time, being moved to its present location in what is now the town of Graton on land donated by Col. Clymons and was built by neighbors who donated the material and labor"},{"label":"Title","value":"Oak Grove School in Graton, early 1900s"},{"label":"Language","value":["English"]},{"label":"Local History and Culture Theme","value":["Education and Culture"]},{"label":"Source of Title and Description Note","value":"Title supplied by cataloger"},{"label":"Maps/StreetView","value":"View location in <a href=\"https://www.google.com/maps/place/8760+Bower+Street+Graton+California@38.432918,-122.864519,17m/data=!3m1!1e3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Maps</a>"},{"label":"Map Zoom Level","value":["17"]},{"label":"Geocoding Status","value":["Exact geocoding"]},{"label":"Longitude","value":"-122.864519"},{"label":"Latitude","value":"38.432918"},{"label":"Street Address","value":"8760 Bower Street, Graton, California"},{"label":"Geographic Metadata Source","value":["GNIS"]},{"label":"Geographic Feature","value":["Bower Street"]},{"label":"District","value":["Graton"]},{"label":"California County","value":["Sonoma"]},{"label":"State or Province","value":["California"]},{"label":"Country","value":["United States"]},{"label":"WSCHS Subject (People)","value":["Clymons, Col.","Gilliam","Hively, Emma Street","Story, Mr."]},{"label":"WSCHS Subject (Topical)","value":["settlers","1860","Occidental Road","schools","Oak Grove School","Graton","1854","1900"]},{"label":"Subject (Time Period)","value":"1900-1909"},{"label":"Subject (Corporate Body)","value":["Oak Grove School (Graton, Calif.)"]},{"label":"Filename","value":"casebwsc_pho_003670.jp2"},{"label":"Credit line","value":"Courtesy, Western Sonoma County Historical Society"},{"label":"Subject keywords","value":"Education and Culture; Oak Grove School (Graton, Calif.); 1900-1909; United States; California; Sonoma; Graton; Bower Street"},{"label":"Single date for City of SR GIS","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1905"},{"label":"View on Alternative Site","value":"View photo location on the <a href=\"https://maps.srcity.org/Html5Viewer/Index.html?viewer=socolibrary&center=-122.864519,38.432918,4326&scale=1200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sonoma County Historical Photos Map</a> hosted by the City of Santa Rosa"},{"label":"Collection(s)","value":["Western Sonoma County Historical Society Collection"]}],"description":"Oak Grove School in Graton, early 1900s","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/sonomalibrary/iiif/c4508505-87f0-4248-b4ac-73555d216059/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"Oak Grove School in Graton, early 1900s","height":736,"width":1056,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/sonomalibrary/iiif/c4508505-87f0-4248-b4ac-73555d216059/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jp2","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/sonomalibrary/iiif/c4508505-87f0-4248-b4ac-73555d216059","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4]}]},"height":736,"width":1056},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/sonomalibrary/iiif/c4508505-87f0-4248-b4ac-73555d216059/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/sonomalibrary/iiif/c4508505-87f0-4248-b4ac-73555d216059/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/sonomalibrary/iiif/c4508505-87f0-4248-b4ac-73555d216059/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/sonomalibrary/iiif/logo"}
