If my memory is accurate, I never slapped the hands of anyone--as is the prevailing myth about nuns. I received a master's degree in religion at the Catholic University of America in 1967. Much later, at 50 years of age, I received a doctorate in transpersonal psychology at Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in California. However, my first love was and always has been literature. I am a commoner at heart, just a Minnesota woman who got carried away with education.
