His family has deep roots in the region; his father, a second-generation Italian immigrant, was born on what is now the Kunde Winery property in 1905. Bob served in the Navy Seabees during the Vietnam War before returning to Kenwood to establish a successful career as an excavating contractor for 25 years. Growing up in a more diversified agricultural era of Kenwood that featured chicken ranches and various orchards, he later transitioned to the family business of grape farming.
