Dr. Morse purchased what at the time was a four-acre parcel from F.H. and Charlotte Denman in 1900. Experiencing ill health and financial hardships, Dr. Morse committed suicide in a boarding house she owned on O'Farrell Street in San Francisco in May, 1904. In 1905 the property was deeded to Leonard Briemle who, according to a 1907 city directory was the proprietor of a duck and chicken hatchery. Briemle's property was later known as the Pacific Duck Ranch.
