After Keating moved to San Francisco, R. A. Walker purchased the house and the Walker family kept it until 1935; Mrs. Walker operated the Hillside Dining Room for a number of years prior to 1933. In 1935, the house was renovated and operated as the Hillside Hospital until 1942 when Palm Drive Hospital opened. The house then reverted back to a private residence.
