Pressey was 4 years old and living in Suisun City, Solano County. His father was John P. Pressey who was a carpenter. In 1870 Henry was living in Analy Township. The 1897 Reynolds and Proctor Atlas lists an H.D. Pressey as the owner of the Corona Lumber Yard, Petaluma. In 1880 he's in Humboldt County. According to the 1900 U.S. Census, Henry D. Pressey was living in the Vallejo Township (just outside of Petaluma). The census taker noted that Pressey was born in October 1855.On the back of the picture it says H.D. Pressey, Petaluma, November 1, 1904. A 1905 directory has him listed as a farmer living in Petaluma. He could not be found in the 1910 Census.
