She grew up with her extended family. She finished her bachelor�s in psychology and political science and was a teacher in Pakistan before coming to Houston. She moved to the US with her husband. She attended University of Houston, Clear Lake and finished her master's in sociology in Texas Southern University and is currently pursuing a master's in global affairs at Rice University. In this interview, Faiqa Javed recalled her upbringing, her educational and career journey, and her experience having seen the differences in Kashmir and Houston. Javed explained her life in Kashmir and how moving to Houston is a great transition because Houston is completely different from her perception of the US from the media.
