His father worked in the textile industry, and although his childhood was hard, his father made sure to emphasize education and to provide an education for his children. Mr. Gajarawala eventually obtained a chemical engineering degree from the University of Bombay through a competitive process. However, to pursue “higher education” and “betterment for the family” he immigrated to the United States in the 60s; here, Mr. Gajarawala would obtain a master’s degree in chemical engineering, become a registered professional engineer, and also later obtain an MBA in the hopes of connecting science and business. His extensive experience in various fi elds (such as engineering, fi nance, and energy) has brought him to his current position as CEO of Infomax Aggregators LLC, which has served various well-known corporations. Mr. Gajarawala currently resides in Houston, where he is actively involved in various community organizations. In particular, he is a founding member of Gujarati Sahitya Sarita, an organization that he was motivated to create due to certain life circumstances and his particular interest in Gujarati literature."},{"label":"Abstract","value":"This item is part of a collection that includes images and ephemera related to interviews conducted by the Houston Asian American Archive (HAAA) since 2010."},{"label":"Time Span","value":["2020s"]},{"label":"Date","value":"D:28 M:05 Y:2021"},{"label":"People and Organizations","value":["Gajarawala, Hemant"]},{"label":"Title","value":"Hemant Gajarawala oral history interview"},{"label":"Interviewee(s)","value":["Gajarawala, Hemant"]}],"description":"Hemant Gajarawala oral history interview","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/rice/iiif/9c43d31b-c20e-491a-80f7-f181f4ac5157/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"wrc22685_poem_2-1","height":1651,"width":1275,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/rice/iiif/71711912-12f2-4f40-bb05-4d9babfde195/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/rice/iiif/71711912-12f2-4f40-bb05-4d9babfde195","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4]}]},"height":1651,"width":1275},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/rice/iiif/9c43d31b-c20e-491a-80f7-f181f4ac5157/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/rice/iiif/71711912-12f2-4f40-bb05-4d9babfde195/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}},{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/rice/iiif/9c43d31b-c20e-491a-80f7-f181f4ac5157/canvas/_2","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"wrc22685_poem_2-2","height":1651,"width":1275,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/rice/iiif/a896d0e7-fa01-42ce-a91d-53cae66ce27e/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/rice/iiif/a896d0e7-fa01-42ce-a91d-53cae66ce27e","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json"},"height":1651,"width":1275},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/rice/iiif/9c43d31b-c20e-491a-80f7-f181f4ac5157/canvas/_2","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/rice/iiif/a896d0e7-fa01-42ce-a91d-53cae66ce27e/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/rice/iiif/71711912-12f2-4f40-bb05-4d9babfde195/full/300,300/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/rice/iiif/logo"}
