Includes a letter of transmittal to General Pedro Garcá Conde, Mexican commissioner, signed: José Salazar Ilarregui and a personal introduction to this report. In this introduction, Jose Salazar Ylarregui describes the Mexican Boundary Commission's bad luck as they begin to survey the land for the demarcation of the US-Mexico border, their carriages become damaged and are overturned, they are given sub-par and incorrect instruments, and do not have tarps to protect their instruments from the weather.
