She graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from San Jacinto College in 2005, a Bachelor's in Social Work in 2006 from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and a Master's degree in Social Work in 2007 from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. Josephine graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1969 in Pasadena where she grew up. She joined the United States Coast Guard in 1973 and was honorably discharged in 1977. She immediately went to work for IBM as a Customer Engineer in 1977 and retired in 2008 after 31 years. In April of 2014 The Student Government Association at the University of Houston passed the Josephine Tittsworth Act. The student bill addresses the safety concerns of transgender people on campus. The bill allows transgender students to use their proper name, title, and gender when completing official university documents. She has been featured in radio, print and television for her work on transgender issues and has spoken at numerous colleges, businesses, and organizations."},{"label":"Abstract","value":"Clipped image of Josephine Tittsworth, taken from the video.
