He has been active in non-profits as executive director of The Assistance Fund providing financial and medication assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS. Prior to joining Harris Health System, he was one of the principals in the merger of Montrose Clinic and The Assistance Fund, forming Legacy Community Health Services. He has been active in all phases of the Ryan White Planning Council, serving as a council member, and chaired needs assessments, comprehensive plans, and epidemiological studies of the Houston EMA/HSDA.
