It had been decided in 1985 that the Society archival material should be organised and sorted. Society records and artefacts had been stored in the Eagle Chambers in Pirie Street, Adelaide. After military forces left the Showground in 1946, archival material was moved to the Centennial Hall basement where it remained until 2006. In 2006 the material was moved to the Society Archive in the Elders Pavilion by Archivist Marilyn Ward.
