The photo was taken from the stairs of Angas Hall Cafeteria (now called Stirling Angas Hall).The large building to the left of the photo is the Hall of Industries, also known as Hamilton Hall.\n\nThe Stirling Hall was constructed in 1955 and originally called the Arcade Restaurant, with the addition of the Angas Pavilion in 1967. It was originally used as a cafeteria during the Show, and for balls, dinners and exhibitions during the year. The building was renamed Lancelot Stirling Hall in 1962. Sir J Lancelot Stirling, MLC, JP was President of the Society from 1891 to 1892 and 1926 to 1932. In 1967 extensions were made and named the “Keith Angas Hall”. The building had also housed Horticulture exhibitions for some years until 1995, when Pigeons and Poultry moved in.\n\nDo you have further information about this item?
