It is a red brick structure of rectangular shape with a high gabled roof and a bull's eye window below the pitch of the roof. On each side of the front entrance are Gothic windows which at one time held stained glass. When the Methodists moved to larger quarters in 1889, the building was purchased by the congregation of St. Luke's Anglican Church and served as their Sunday School for 30 years. In 1919 it was then turned over to the Trustees of the Burlington Great War Veteran's Association and in 1947 the Canadian Legion, Burlington Branch 60, acquired the property as trustees for the Navy League of Canada.\n<br><br>\nThe structure was burnt in November 1980 and rebuilt."},{"label":"Source","value":"Historical Photographs Collection - Series 8 - Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee (LACAC) Photographs - F014-08-01"},{"label":"Subject","value":["Buildings","Navy"]},{"label":"Type","value":["Photograph"]},{"label":"Format","value":["JPEG"]},{"label":"Language","value":["EN"]},{"label":"Rights","value":["Burlington Public Library"]},{"label":"Repository","value":["Burlington Public Library"]}],"description":"Sea Cadet Hall, 451 Elizabeth Street","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/ecd2210b-851b-4876-822f-d8f9487fe663/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"Sea Cadet Hall, 451 Elizabeth Street","height":1018,"width":1521,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/ecd2210b-851b-4876-822f-d8f9487fe663/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/ecd2210b-851b-4876-822f-d8f9487fe663","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json"},"height":1018,"width":1521},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/ecd2210b-851b-4876-822f-d8f9487fe663/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/ecd2210b-851b-4876-822f-d8f9487fe663/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/ecd2210b-851b-4876-822f-d8f9487fe663/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/logo"}
