Thomas Lemon (1833-1926) and Mary (Budge) Lemon (1837-1907) of Beverly Township, Lynden, Ontario, purchased for 84 to 86 acres of Farms and Farmingland on \"the Plains\" -- a plateau on the West side of the Grindstone Creek's ravine --for $5,500 from Joseph Hancock in 1881. This two- storey house, clad with tongue-and-groove wood siding, was built in an \"L\" shape with two main entrances by the pioneer owner Joseph Hancock in the 1870s. It housed Farms and Farming helpers until 1888, when the new owners, Thomas and Mary Lemon and their family relocated from Lynden to Concession 1, East Flamborough, Thomas's mother Mary (1807-1903) and five of their seven grown Children and youth relocated with them: Allan, John, Charles, William \"Will\" and Jessie. Allan, John, Charles and Will paid $1.00 each for their portion of the original Farms and Farming, ranging between 12 to 20 acres and all four sons married between June 1892 and January 1895. Thomas & Mary's last child, Jessie (1870-1963) married Frederick Gardiner (1870-1950's) in March 1902, and remained at 1286 Lemonville Road. Jessie and Fred Gardiner had one daughter, Annie. Annie (1903-1973) later married Charles McCoy (1898-1971); they had no Children and youth. Thomas's mother died in 1903; his wife died in 1907."},{"label":"Date","value":"n.d."},{"label":"Title","value":"1286 Lemonville Road, Aldershot, 1992"},{"label":"Repository","value":["Burlington Historical Society"]}],"description":"1286 Lemonville Road, Aldershot, 1992","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/ea472137-8b3c-4662-ae25-568032dab6f3/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"1286 Lemonville Road, Aldershot, 1992","height":1002,"width":1600,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/ea472137-8b3c-4662-ae25-568032dab6f3/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/ea472137-8b3c-4662-ae25-568032dab6f3","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4]}]},"height":1002,"width":1600},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/ea472137-8b3c-4662-ae25-568032dab6f3/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/ea472137-8b3c-4662-ae25-568032dab6f3/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/ea472137-8b3c-4662-ae25-568032dab6f3/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/logo"}
