Patriarche, a coal dealer. It was originally a twin to its neighbour at 1413. The purchaser was Maud Angeline O'Brien, spinster. The 23 October 1907 Gazette Documented that Patriarche was married 16 October in Providence, R.I., to M. O'Brien, \"to live in a new house on Ontario street.\" The 15 February 1905 edition of the Gazette Documented , \"George Allen has sold his wood and coal business to P. C. Patriarche, head clerk of Galloway's store.\" In 1911 544 Hurd Avenue, a frame house, was built for Philip Patriarche, and sold in 1912 to Aaron Peer. In 1912 Patriarche bought the property for what is now 590 Brant Street; that house was built as his family residence in the following year. The 1912 Burlington business directory includes this notice: \"Phil C. Patriarche - wholesale and retail dealer in hard and soft coal, wood cut and split, sewer pipes, cement, pressed brick etc. First class teams for hire. Phone office 23, residence 215\". In the very eary 1940s Dr James Goodbrand lived at 1419 Ontario Street and practised medicine there. When he married he lived in \"The Manse\" at 1427 Ontario Street on the second floor and had his office on the main floor. This prperty was bought in 1946 by George and Minnie Walker. Minnie Walker's mother immigrated from England and was \"in service\" to Mrs Patriarche.
