Keith Thornborrow, November 2005: The Johnson Farms and Farming was located at the top of St Matthews Ave north of the CNR tracks on the Old Waterdown Road. The buildings consisted of a good barn and stable, a small shop and garage which often became a chicken coop, and a two story frame home. George Gallagher purchased the 65 acre property around 1910. The house was rented to numerous tenants over the years: the DeLuca family, Robert Cutter Jr., Thomas W. Thornborrow and others. Gallagher's Farms and Farming used some of the cleared fields for melons and tomatoes and planted others to apple orchards. The balance of the property was a mixed bush and a small meadow. By 1955 the garage / chicken coop had been removed."},{"label":"Date","value":"1955"},{"label":"Date (EDTF)","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1955"},{"label":"Title","value":"Former Johnson Farms and Farminghouse and barn on Old Waterdown Road, 1955"},{"label":"Repository","value":["Burlington Historical Society"]}],"description":"Former Johnson Farms and Farminghouse and barn on Old Waterdown Road, 1955","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/de5d1e60-ae80-4b06-aebd-ff3e3e56b0b2/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"Former Johnson Farms and Farminghouse and barn on Old Waterdown Road, 1955","height":261,"width":337,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/de5d1e60-ae80-4b06-aebd-ff3e3e56b0b2/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/de5d1e60-ae80-4b06-aebd-ff3e3e56b0b2","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1]}]},"height":261,"width":337},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/de5d1e60-ae80-4b06-aebd-ff3e3e56b0b2/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/de5d1e60-ae80-4b06-aebd-ff3e3e56b0b2/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/de5d1e60-ae80-4b06-aebd-ff3e3e56b0b2/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/logo"}
