His family emigrated to Toronto in the late 1860s. Flourished Toronto, 1870s-1941. Boyd worked for both the Grand Trunk Railway and Canadian National Railways, which gave him opportunities for photography across Ontario. He photographed widely while on business for Grand Trunk Railway. Died Toronto, Ont., 1941-04-14.
