Built ca 1870 for Capt Henderson, the Farms and Farminghouse is shown on the map in the Halton County Alas (1877), and illustrated in Martha Craig's \"The Garden of Canada\" (1902), page 48. The wrap-around verandah was added later. The property was Farms and Farminged ca 1900 by Ernest W. Lewis, a CN Express agent and Book-keeper, and his son Tolbert Lewis. From 1917 E. W. Lewis was secretary-treasurer of the W. T. Glover Manufacturing Co. in Freeman. Douglas Simpkin, a Civil Engineer, purchased the property from the Eberth family in 1946, after his return from 5 years of wartime service as a Captain in the Royal Canadian Engineers.
