Created as part of the Burlington Centennial 1873-1973. R. J. VanSeters Co. Ltd built the fountain and commissioned artist Almuth Lutkenhaus to create the sculpture. Referred to by various names: Nimue, Vivianne, The Lady of the Lake. It represents the mysterious female who gave King Arthur his magical sword, Excalibur. This sculpture symbolizes BurlingtonÔÇÖs relationship to Lake Ontario. Burlington Centennial 1873-1973. Lady of the Lake is made of bronze and needs to be cleaned (yearly) and waxed often to protect her more from the fountain water than rain.
