B. Coleman, a general contractor and lumber dealer and, in partnership with his brothers, builder of several fine buildings in Burlington. They had built Charles Findlay Coleman's house, \"Idlewyld\", 1337 Ontario Street, in 1888 (demolished 2004); the house for Charles King, 470 Nelson Avenue, in 1890; and other speculatively built frame houses on Nelson Avenue and Ontario Street. They had also renovated St Lukes Church in 1887. In 1899 the property was purchased for the home and office of Hamilton physician Dr. George Metherell. Sold in November 1918 to W. B. Ford, a Civil Engineer. In the 1920s Ford founded the Canadian Engineers group, which built St Lukes Parish Hall in 1922, the lakefront breakwater, and all Shell service stations from here to Windsor. From 1963 to 1999, the home of Tom and Ivy Tom Thomson.
