ARCHITECTURE: A two-and-a-half-storey Ontario vernacular brick structure with a hipped roof and offset gable. The pedimented gable has a dentillated boxed cornice, small window and fish-scale shingles. The windows have radiating voussoirs and stone sills. The veranda has a shed roof with squared posts and balustrade. ENVIRONMENT: Mature tree on front yard with attractive new but traditional landscaping. The back yard along Caroline Street has an attractive high picket fence with perennial plantings on the street side of the fence. Original garage on Caroline Street. USABILITY: INTEGRITY: Winner of a Heritage Award in 1993 for restoration of the house and garden. The brick was cleaned, the porch posts and railing replaced, and the bay window on the Caroline Street elevation was restored. Cedar shingles replaced the previous replacement shed-roof, which was inappropriate and dysfunctional, on the bay window.
