In the background, a barn with cupola. The huge Slippery Elm tree at the left, recorded on the Ontario Honour Roll of Trees as well as the Burlington Honour Roll, was damaged and then removed during the redevelopment in 1993.,The oldest part of the house was built ca 1850, 20 years after this part of Joseph Brant's Crown Grant Block was sold by his grandson, William J. Simcoe Kerr. By 1877 it was one of 10 Farms and Farminghouses along what is now Lockhart Road, an intensively Farms and Farminged area. Neighbouring Farms and Farmingers were Robert Lindley, who built his Farms and Farminghouse at 562 Maple Avenue in 1875, and the Bell brothers. Charles H. Davidson and his son Allan moved their thriving nursery business to Lockhart Road and had the house expanded by builder George Blair ca 1906. His alterations included large additions to the original house, a turret with decorative iron cresting, and an imposing two-storey porch to display flowers cultivated by the Davidsons. A large barn with cupola on the roof, said to have been copied from a barn on Plains Road, was also built by George Blair. Demolished for housing development in 1992."},{"label":"Contributor","value":"Frances Day"},{"label":"Creator","value":"Frances Day"},{"label":"Date","value":"Nov-74"},{"label":"Date (EDTF)","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1974"},{"label":"Title","value":"Davidson House, 1199 Lockhart Road (formerly King Road), 1974"},{"label":"Repository","value":["Burlington Historical Society"]}],"description":"Davidson House, 1199 Lockhart Road (formerly King Road), 1974","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/c150d8ab-d88d-4d7f-a91b-b4aa31bc8791/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"Davidson House, 1199 Lockhart Road (formerly King Road), 1974","height":229,"width":224,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/c150d8ab-d88d-4d7f-a91b-b4aa31bc8791/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/c150d8ab-d88d-4d7f-a91b-b4aa31bc8791","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1]}]},"height":229,"width":224},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/c150d8ab-d88d-4d7f-a91b-b4aa31bc8791/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/c150d8ab-d88d-4d7f-a91b-b4aa31bc8791/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/c150d8ab-d88d-4d7f-a91b-b4aa31bc8791/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/logo"}
