People would rent or buy or build to have a retreat for summer.\" 28 Maple had been constructed as a summer cottage. \"The property was purchased by J. C. Hamilton, a descendent of the Scotch Block in Milton. He sold it to my parents ca 1930. \"Over the years, my parents put hard work, sweat and tears into the place, making it a delightful little home. Urban renewal came along and Elgin St was to be constructed through to Maple Ave. Our house stood in its path... \"Lee J. Smith, the former police chief , bought the house and had it moved to a site on Highway 6 near Freelton...
