Digital only"},{"label":"Description","value":"Frederick W. Graham and his wife Mary (Lynn) moved to Freeman to be near his widowed mother, Almira (Will) Graham. Following her death in 1911, he took over the land his father William Graham had acquired in the 1850s. The land locked property had a road allowance from Brant Street for access. It became known as Graham Lane. The Farms and Farming was on the west side of the railroad tracks at the end of Graham Lane. Fred W. Graham (1878-1946) became a successful celery grower on 10 acres of the Farms and Farming. Known as The Celery King of Ontario, his operation was chosen for a visit in 1934 from the Vegetable Growers of America. His son, Robert Wallace (Bert) Graham (1903-1969) took his celery to several markets from Hamilton to Windsor and would have a young lad at each place to sell the produce. After a while he changed to only going to the Bantford market and manning his own shop.
