LACAC, \"A Driving Tour of North Burlington (West)\" LACAC, \"A Driving Tour of Rural Burlington\" (1989) Gables of Burlington Poster (1989) ARCHITECTURE: This one-and-a-half-storey coursed-stone structure has a front gable above an arched window. A rear wing seems to be cross-gabled, built at the same time. The porch with a mansard roof and wrought iron cresting, with elaborate decorative wood features, is a later Victorian addition. The decorative bargeboard on the front and south side gable (featured in the Gables of Burlington Poster, 1989) may also date from the later time. The rest of the house is an excellent example of pre-Confederation vernacular style. The flat-headed windows have dressed stone lintels and sills, and the arched window a dressed stone voussoir. The quoins are somewhat roughly dressed stone. ENVIRONMENT: Set high on the side of a hill, this house contributes strongly to the heritage roadscape of Cedar Springs Road. USABILITY: INTEGRITY: Thermopane replacement windows were installed circa 1990. The historic house is very well maintained."},{"label":"Creator","value":"LACAC"},{"label":"Date","value":"1860"},{"label":"Date (EDTF)","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1860"},{"label":"Title","value":"5672 Cedar Springs Road, Burlington, ON"},{"label":"Repository","value":["Burlington Historical Society"]}],"description":"5672 Cedar Springs Road, Burlington, ON","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/8bbc9580-c174-4f8e-9ead-a80942164abe/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"5672 Cedar Springs Road, Burlington, ON","height":238,"width":232,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/8bbc9580-c174-4f8e-9ead-a80942164abe/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/8bbc9580-c174-4f8e-9ead-a80942164abe","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1]}]},"height":238,"width":232},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/8bbc9580-c174-4f8e-9ead-a80942164abe/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/8bbc9580-c174-4f8e-9ead-a80942164abe/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/8bbc9580-c174-4f8e-9ead-a80942164abe/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/logo"}
