The land, part of Brant's Block, was donated by Augustus Bates and Elizabeth Brant Kerr, and is said to have been a sacred native burial ground. The cemetery predates the church by a few years. The graveyard has great historical significance, containing the graves of many of the earliest settlers of the region: Elizabeth Brant Kerr and her husband William Johnson Kerr, the Chisholm family, Adam Fergusson, the Bates family, the Buntons, the Allens, and the Daltons."},{"label":"Contributor","value":"Mrs Barbara J.
