See later Photograph. This double lot was sold in 1910 to Colburn Gilliam, who built this house for John Clarkson Sinclair, retired, and his wife. In 1920 it was sold to Thomas John Hedley, an upholster, and his wife Frances. Their son was a bomber pilot in the Second World War. Pilot Officer (P. O.) W. J. Hedley is Documented in the June 15 1942 issue of the Hamilton Spectator as having been active in the bombing raids devastating Cologne and Essen. His letter to his parents is quoted in part. Re Cologne: \" It was really a picnic and there was so much flame and smoke covering a tremendous area that it looked like a huge volcano. I was stooging around trying to find a spot that wasn't already wrecked and finally let them go on a beautiful mess of factories.\" \"Pilot Officer Hedley joined the R.C.A.F. two years ago and received his wings at Paulson, Manitoba, in 1940. He is now attached to the R.A.F. He is a graduate of Burlington high school.\" In 1956 the property was bought by Herbert and Ursula Heine, who \"reworked\" its heritage qualities."},{"label":"Creator","value":"Jane Irwin"},{"label":"Date","value":"May-90"},{"label":"Date (EDTF)","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1990"},{"label":"Title","value":"525 Hager Avenue, 1990"},{"label":"Repository","value":["Burlington Historical Society"]}],"description":"525 Hager Avenue, 1990","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/817b5fcb-04e7-4b87-a4e0-f45fab04331a/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"525 Hager Avenue, 1990","height":1065,"width":1600,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/817b5fcb-04e7-4b87-a4e0-f45fab04331a/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/817b5fcb-04e7-4b87-a4e0-f45fab04331a","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4]}]},"height":1065,"width":1600},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/817b5fcb-04e7-4b87-a4e0-f45fab04331a/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/817b5fcb-04e7-4b87-a4e0-f45fab04331a/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/817b5fcb-04e7-4b87-a4e0-f45fab04331a/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/logo"}
