The wrap-around verandah was added later. The property was Farms and Farminged ca 1900 by Ernest W. Lewis, a CN Express agent and Book-keeper, and his son Tolbert Lewis. From 1917 E. W. Lewis was secretary-treasurer of the W. T. Glover Manufacturing Co. in Freeman. Douglas Simpkin, a Civil Engineer, purchased the property from the Eberth family in 1946, after his return from 5 years of wartime service as a Captain in the Royal Canadian Engineers.
