He first leased land on Walker's Line between the first and second Sideroads. Jane Corner, a sister of Thomas Corner, became his wife. He bought land from Thomas, then sold it back to him after buying a bigger property. Up to now (2014) we don't have his War of 1812 records but we do know that he made a land claim after the war as a member of a flank company. In 1819, he settled in Toronto township.
