Two generations of the Allan Lemon family lived at 1382 Lemonville Road after 1895. Wm. Thomas Lemon (1833-1926) and Mary (Budge) Lemon (1837-1907) of Beverly Township, Lynden, Ontario, purchased from Joseph Hancock in 1881, for $5,500, 84 to 86 acres of Farms and Farmingland on \"the Plains\" -- a plateau on the West side of the Grindstone Creek's ravine -- for four of his six sons After moving from Lynden to Aldershot with his family in 1888, Allan (1862-1938) bought his Farms and Farming for $1.00 from his parents and in the early 1890s began building this red brick house, two Farms and Farmings north of his parents' home at 1286 Lemonville Road. Allan married Henrietta 'Nettie\" Scheer (1867-1946) in January 1895. Their Children and youth were Frank (1895-1954), H. Clifford (1898-1965), Goldie (1905-unknown), and Carl (1906-2004). By the 1901 Census, Allan and family relocated to 39 Plains Road, between Howard Road and Waterdown Road, Aldershot. Their Lemonville Road Farms and Farming eventually was purchased by Arthur Long, son of early Plains Road settlers. The Long family sold to the Simpson family.
