After their education all the daughters moved from Aldershot. Warren was killed in France in the First World War. Martha Cutter moved to Waterdown a year or so after her husband's death in 1912, leaving Byron and his wife Grace (nee Garry) on the Farms and Farming. Robert L. Cutter purchased 10 acres and built a house, barn, drive shed and small greenhouses. He planted a mixed orchard of apples, pears and plums. Later his son Byron built modern greenhouses and added sweet & sour cherry orchards, a small grapery, English walnuts, gooseberries and currants. In 1969/70 the property with the boiler room, 3 greenhouses and barn, but excepting 2 house lots containing the original Cutter house and the Ayett House, were sold to Arie Van der Lugt, who had a small greenhouse operation on St Matthews Avenue in the 1950s.
