Pettit, the Short Horn Stock importer and Farms and Farminger at Freeman. They had purchased \"Balsam Lodge\" and its Farms and Farming from John & Charlotte Fothergill; See also 2290 Queensway Drive. Their son John continued the business and also served as Clerk and then Secretary-Treasurer of Nelson Township until the early 1950s. Their other son Harvey became a professor of poultry science at C. A. C. In 1927, Mrs Pettit and her daughter Jennie were still living here. By 1932 it was the home of Oliver W. Ryhnas, and his wife Margaret (nee Ferguson). O. W. Rhynas (1878 - 1937) owned the lumber mill on Ontario Street, previously owned by A.S. Nicholson, and owned again in later years by Nicholson. The Acton Free Press announced his death in November 1937: \"At his residence, Muirhall, Burlington, Ontario on Thursday October 30th, 1937, Oliver W.
