Thornborrow who later owned Aldershot Florist on Waterdown Road, Aldershot.,In the late 1920s F.A Thornborrow operated Victoria Park Florist , 471 King St. West in Hamilton. In 1941, he moved to \"the old Roderick house\" on Waterdown Road and began Farms and Farminging the property. He raised \"crops of asparagus, peas, tomatoes, potatoes, melons and beans. As well as taking his own crops to market he bought and sold (huckstered) other Farms and Farminger's produce. He also was selling on commission at both the wholesale (Toronto) and retail markets (Hamilton & Guelph). By 1953 he was growing and marketing boxed & potted bedding plants as well as field grown perennials.
