This photograph was taken somewhat later than the one in Martha Craig's \"The Garden of Canada\" (1902). The house was built in 1901, when central heating (hot-water radiators) was an innovation. Electricity was added in 1912. William V. (not J., as in \"The Garden of Canada\" was a fruit grower who developed the \"Bonnie\" peach from native species. The fruit was shipped in trays protected by \"wood wool'\" or shavings to London, England.
