The building is unique, but also a pendant to Bent's frame house next door and his brick Calvary Baptist Church, next to that. A one-and-a-half-storey Carpenter Gothic or Picturesque style frame house, clad with shiplap siding. The structure is said to have two roofs. Originally, there was a verandah on the west side, with a back kitchen and woodshed. The six-room interior included a parlour with a fireplace, drawing room, and Winter kitchen. The front gable with side parapets has an outstanding decorative bargeboard with a finial. In the front gable is a prowed double oriel window. The massive double chimney with ornamental caps rises from the roof peak. The front entrance is set back to form a recessed \"umbrage\", now glazed."},{"label":"Contributor","value":"Frances Day"},{"label":"Creator","value":"Frances Day"},{"label":"Date","value":"1975"},{"label":"Date (EDTF)","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1975"},{"label":"Title","value":"The Blathwayt house, now 1436 Ontario Street, 1975"},{"label":"Repository","value":["Burlington Historical Society"]}],"description":"The Blathwayt house, now 1436 Ontario Street, 1975","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/4dd61017-fb26-4eab-b244-c47330ddabf2/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"The Blathwayt house, now 1436 Ontario Street, 1975","height":229,"width":345,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/4dd61017-fb26-4eab-b244-c47330ddabf2/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/4dd61017-fb26-4eab-b244-c47330ddabf2","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1]}]},"height":229,"width":345},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/4dd61017-fb26-4eab-b244-c47330ddabf2/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/4dd61017-fb26-4eab-b244-c47330ddabf2/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/4dd61017-fb26-4eab-b244-c47330ddabf2/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/qstarter29/iiif/logo"}
