C. and M. C. Smith. Gage sold this Lot 111 and Part Lot 112 in 1910 to James Harrison, who sold it in 1911 to Fred. Wellington Alex. Cotter (mortgage in 1911), who built the house and sold it in 1913 to Hannah Bridgman, a widow, and Alma Bridgman. Hannah was the widow of John Bridgman, and mother of Alma and the brothers William, John, and George. Murray Fisher , in '\"Farewell to the Garden of Canada\", notes that the \"Bridgman Bros, [Farms and Farminging on New Street, east of the Boyd / Henderson property and west of Smith Lane] - were good market gardeners. John moved to Maple Avenue to Farms and Farming, William to Brant street and George worked the home Farms and Farming.\" 1901 Census: Hannah, born in Ontario 1849, age 52, Farms and Farminger, freeholder, Methodist; William age 29, born in Nova Scotia 1872; John, age 26, born in Nova Scotia 1874; George, age 20, born in Ontario 1880. 1881 Census: John Bridgman, Calvinist Methodist, born in 1845, Ontario, German ethnicity; married to Hannah According to the Gazette of 27 March 1912, Fred Cotter was building a new house on Caroline Street. 1910 GOAD Map: sketched in, no street number; 1924 GOAD Map: 25 Caroline West. 1915 Voters List: Mrs H. Bridgman, Widow, and Alma Bridgman, Spinster, (owners only), Lots 111, 112 Caroline 1916 Sewerage Works Plan: Mrs M. Bridgman, Lot 11. 1919 Voters List: Mrs H. Bridgman, Widow, and Alma Bridgman, Stenographer, Lots 111, 112 Caroline. 1927 Voters List: Mrs H. Bridgman, Widow, Miss A. Bridgman, Spinster, and Miss E. Bridgman, Spinster, Lots 111-112, 25 Caroline 1932 Burlington Directory: Miss Edith and A. Bridgman, 25 Caroline In 1964 it passed from Alma Bridgman's estate to John and Jane Phelps; in 1997 (or 1998?) to Sean Harris (634 1576). ARCHITECTURE: A one-and-a-half storey frame cottage in a vernacular Craftsman Style, clad with narrow clapboard. The end-gabled roof is broken by a wide shed dormer with two sets of triple casement windows. The wide eaves of the gable roof are supported by solid curved brackets at the building corners. All the windows are multi-paned wood sash.
