It was bought by the City for $16,000 and demolished, as part of a scheme to turn Brant into a mall closed to traffic. Dr Weaver retired in 1981 at the age of 91. He was disappointed at the demolition. \"This is a bit of destruction. ... It is a fine old structure in excellent repair and has long been a landmark for local residents.
