One of Burlington Avenue's best Craftsman-style bungalows reclad in 2010 with siding and shingles. A brick chimney and verandah pillar supports. A rebuilt front dormer above the front steps. A gable roof over the front verandah extends along both sides, above the triple window projecting bay on the south side. Seven pillars support the wrap-around verandah. Distinctive fenestration pattern, especially the corner windows at the south-east corner sunporch.,Built in 1915 by carpenter Rowland Beck as his own residence. Sold by his widow ca 1927 to Philip Oliver Rhynas, son of Oliver William Rhynas. Both were lumber merchants. Oliver (O. W.) bought Harrison's lumber mill on Ontario Street and sold it later to Allan S. Nicholson. In 1994 a reshingling of the house was recognized by a Heritage Award. Its location at the intersection of Caroline Street and Burlington Avenue, kitty-corner from James Harrison's \"Hazelmere\", makes a key contribution toe Harrison and Gage's Welllington Park Survey development.
